Honestly the end of July and the beginning of August is crazy in France.  EVERYONE wants live music…

Everyone is having a party or going to a party and the streets are full of night markets, and food and artisans and music…and come 11:00 at night the sky is full of fireworks… oh we do LOVE high summer in South West France.

Amid all this fabulous madness, The Candies went to Aubeterre; a wonderful little village on the Charente/Dordogne borders.  It’s classed as one of France’s most beautiful villages, there is a river and a sandy river beach, a camp site, a monolithic church which is listed as a national monument… and it’s on a Camino route… basically it gets very very busy in the summer!

Everyone LOVES our Disco Diva’s

Hotel De France is on the corner of the main square.  There are several restaurants and they are always full but Hotel De France is GREAT!  As the evening gets darker and cooler the music draws folks up from the campsite and slowly but surely Aubeterre fills!  Oh it is so much fun!

I think all we need to say is… we had an amazing evening! We’ll see you again next year!
