The Candies would be the first to admit that we get to sing at some pretty amazing venues; and today Chateau Labro was no exception.

We were heading about 3 hours south east, to the little village of Onet-Le-Chateau… but our destination wasn’t the ancient and magnificent castle the dominates the village… but  a few kilometres further on at Chateau de Labro.   This fabulous building dates back to the 16th century and has both a glamorous and not so glamorous history… but these days it’s been transformed into a luxurious hotel and spa.

We arrived at the venue at 1:30 and quickly set to work;  first getting ready for our  Champagne set and then after our sound check, we installed speakers, iPad and mics for the ceremony.  And when all was in place we found ourselves a quiet corner for a picnic lunch, then changed into our dresses and waited for this beautiful ceremony to unfold.

When the signal was given we started the music.  Mothers and brothers, followed my groomsmen and the dashing groom, followed by pretty bridesmaids and a stunning bride.  As today’s guest were a mix of French and English speakers the ceremony was conducted in both languages.  Vows were made, rings exchanged, champagne was opened, the crowd cheered and the party started!

Our Fabulously Vintage today included more than a few songs from our Disco set… we sang for well over 2 hours and when we finished our lovely guests cheered for more, so we obliged with a couple of encores.  We never had a dance floor during the champagne set, but nonetheless, by the end of our today the garden area in front of us was full… as bridesmaids, groomsmen, friends and families boogied the afternoon away with us.

And as the sun dropped, and people slowly meandered into the banqueting hall.. we packed up, loaded the car and headed back home.  What a beautiful September wedding… what a stunning bride… and what a venue… Wow!  We really do have the best job ever!
